It’s been 2 weeks since I was out fishing, too hot and humid.  BUT  this past week was very comfortable and I decided I wanted to try a new technique for me: using  a 1/8 oz jig head and a 3inch yamamoto zako (swim bait) I used my active target 2 to see the bass suspended in 25 ft.  The area had some string and buoys from the bottom to about 15 ft.  I found them during the winter with my side scan, the best time to look for objects in a pond !!  The bait fish and white perch and bass were all around.  I saw the larger “blips” and sent my bait down and was rewarded with a big largemouth.  I caught 3 more and 2 rainbow trout !! The “blips” come together on the screen and the bite is felt !!  Then I went to grass areas in 8-10 ft where the deep water is very close, and caught 6 more large mouth with a jig.(getting better at the jig)  The small mouth came off a tree in 16 ft, I found one winter !!  That was a surprise, I thought I was caught in the tree, so I didn’t set the hook.  You have to get lucky sometimes !!!!!
